Keep Your Brain Young! A graduate school professor who had retired in school housing took his meals on campus, where the walk to the dining hall meant going up a steep hill. After he paused to chat with a colleague for a few minutes one day, he asked, “Now, was I going up the hill or down when we stopped to talk?”

“Down the hill,” said his colleague.
“Ah, that means I’ve already had my lunch,” said the aging professor.
We smile at such incidents. But sadly, for millions of people, seeing their memory slip signals the end of their freedom and enjoyment of other people’s company.
The last thing you want in your future is to spend ten, fifteen, or even twenty years in a nursing home, with few if any visitors since no one knows what to say to you anymore because your mind is not allowing you to communicate effectively.

I have worked with many clients who report that their memory is going.   I hear this from people of all ages.   They often say “it must be a sign of aging”.   Aging is inevitable; one thing we know for sure is that we are all getting older.   However, there are many things that we can do to keep your brain young.
